Join Najda B Khan & Lauren van Rooyen as they discuss “Sorry, I’m not sorry.”

This is what is on Najda’s mind:

For generations, women have been conditioned to apologize in an array of professional and personal situations.

Our patriarchal societies have clear and rigid gender roles and expectations for behavior for us.

It encourages men to be strong, direct, assertive, confident, and unashamedly committed to achieving their goals (and to avoid being or showing that they are emotional or vulnerable).

On the other hand, our society encourages and teaches women from the earliest age to be kind, malleable, pleasing, accommodating and tolerant. And they are taught that it’s not good or acceptable for women to appear overly ambitious, confident, or strong.

Thus we often speak in an apologetic, overly-deferential way that hurts us, suppresses our chances for more impact and damages our confidence.

It takes years for a woman to unlearn what she has been taught to be sorry about, let’s start now, shall we.

In this live session, we embark on a journey to unlearn the art of saying sorry. We’ll navigate familiar situations and circumstances where we usually succumb to the word sorry and understand why it’s harmful to us, our progress, and the future of women.

MomBoss LIVE WORKSHOPS will be streamed from our Business Facebook Page MomBossMarket.Space & shared to our MomBoss Closed Groups.
